KNEC chief executive officer Dr. David Njeng’ere reminded parents and learners that the registration exercise is free and no one should charge them even for the examinations.

Magoha asked those involved in the exercise to ensure they provide the correct information about learners with special needs during the registration and verification of the registration of candidates.

“Sub County Directors of Education should ensure accuracy of the correct name of the candidate as per the birth certificate; gender; year of birth; citizenship; subjects entered,” he said

The CS said the involvement of parents and guardians during the verification of KPSEA and KCPE candidates was important as the data will be used in other examinations.

In addition he urged students who would like to transfer to other schools to do so before the registration time elapses as those who will be late for registration will be locked out.
