Registration 0f 2022 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) for grade 6, Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education and (KCSE) examinations started today April 27 and will end on May 14th 2022.
The registration will be done at the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) portal. Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha said registration will be done online by the respective head teachers adding there will be no offline registration of candidates.
According to KNEC, candidates will sit for KCPE exam from November 28 to December 1, 2022 while those sitting for KCSE will do so from December 1 to 23, 2022. Grade six candidates will be assessed in October and November.
Candidates currently in grade six and will be transitioning to junior secondary school next year. They will be pioneers of junior school under the CBC program.
KNEC chief executive officer Dr. David Njeng’ere reminded parents and learners that the registration exercise is free and no one should charge them even for the examinations.
He said this during the release of 2021 KSCE examinations results last Saturday.
Magoha asked those involved in the exercise to ensure they provide the correct information about learners with special needs during the registration and verification of the registration of candidates.
“Sub County Directors of Education should ensure accuracy of the correct name of the candidate as per the birth certificate; gender; year of birth; citizenship; subjects entered,” he said
The CS said the involvement of parents and guardians during the verification of KPSEA and KCPE candidates was important as the data will be used in other examinations.
In addition he urged students who would like to transfer to other schools to do so before the registration time elapses as those who will be late for registration will be locked out.
