I haven’t been to school from the 16th of March 2020. This is because of the deadly coronavirus. The president announced that all schools should be closed. The day after the announcement my mother left me at my aunt’s house and went to pick up my brother from Nyeri high school and later in the day we all went home. A week after, my mother and I went to my school to pick necessary books from my desks.
Everyday my mother tells us to be hygienic, she also reminds us to wash our hands with water and soap or sanitize our hands whenever we get out of the house. Usually, I get bored because I can neither visit my friends nor my cousins nor ride my bike. I can’t also go for movies in the theater or take my mother for shopping. It is sad.
My mother tells us to be careful always and encourages us to pray for the virus to stop spreading. During my free time, I play with my dog whose name is Pocket. My brother and I play football and basketball, board games such as chess, snake and ladders and scrabble. During the day we read story books, wash the utensils every day and also wipe the table after eating. Most nights we come together to read the Bible and pray then we go to sleep. I do revision and my brother mark’s my work and he corrects me where I have gone wrong.
Our neighbor comes to visit us and sometimes he comes with his dog named Papa. He’s a very good friend. I hope that the corona virus will stop spreading and everything goes back to the way they were.
