In a world with so much evil, it is easy to forget that there are people that spend their days and nights on the battlefield, fighting hard to end GBV by ensuring that the perpetrators are put away for a long long time. And sometimes the cases are heartbreaking but the warriors put on their brave faces and fight on. I salute the silent heroes.
The case I have shared today was Prosecuted by a lady called Nelly Waweru. A very passionate prosecutor who hates all forms of violence against humans and especially children. She fought this battle diligently and was able to secure a conviction. Nelly is not mentioned in the article and that’s why I refer to her, and the many others like her who fight this battle daily, as the silent heroes.
Paul Mbiu Gacheru, A 29 year old man was sentenced to 30 years in Prison after being found guilty of raping his great-grandmother on Rigogo Farm in Solai on November 21, 2015.
