Urbanization represents the level of urban development; it is closely linked to moderation and industrialization. Urbanization has led to increased productivity and economic diversification but also poverty, marginalization and deprivation.
The World Economic Forum provides a much-needed assessment of current state of paths to social mobility around the world.Most economies are falling to provide the conditions in which their citizens can thrive,often by a large margin.The World Economic Forum is aimed on forging a sustainable path towards a common future and also on how the passion of today’s youth activism inspire positive change in behaviors that respect the needs and rights of future citizens.
The Agenda on climate change and urbanization raised a high alarm during the World Economic Forum. At global and local level children should live in a safe and clean environment.Making children the center of climate change strategies and response plans,recognizing children as agents of change,protecting children from impact of climate change and environment degradation,reducing emissions and pollution.
Increased demand for services and infrastructure has depleted natural resources and caused other environmental problems. Environmental problems include those caused by widespread poverty and industrialization. Urbanization has increased diseases. Children in slums are more vulnerable to diseases and child labor than those in rural and other urban counterparts.
Urban living affects the behavior of children because it confines them to sets where it is impossible for them to participate in subsistence activities but bring them rather in contact with specialists. Urbanization transforms social and economic growth. Education and health in urban development, every child should access high quality education and quality health services.
Children living in urban areas are generally considered better off than their rural counterparts with greater access to services. Children living in slums are vulnerable to a variety of deprivations, including;
- overcrowded living conditions
- poor sanitation
- low education
- lack of income generating opportunities for their parents
In innovating urbanization for children, provide infrastructure for health, educational and social services for children and the community.Respect children’s rights and invest in child-responsive urban planning to ensure a safe and clean environment for children.
Climate change is a real thing,the science and voice of young people need to be heard.
