16 days of activism meant to raise awareness on violence against women and children kicks off today. The prosecutor and our brothers the police play a pivotal role in this fight but many times this is overlooked or downplayed. During the 16 days, I chose to celebrate my colleagues who work tirelessly to help victims find justice. They feel the victim’s pain, cry when they lose cases and celebrate when cases are won. And they learn to live with all the horrifying things they get to see and hear everyday. The uncelebrated heroes. In their honour I will post a case a day for the next 16 days of the great battles they have fought and won.
A 26 year old business woman was jailed for defiling a 17 year old boy,Jane Gichuhi was sentenced to 15 years behind bars,after being found guilty of the offence by Kitale resident magistrate, Grace Sitati.
