Bahati Secondary school in Nakuru county is the latest school to report COVID-19 with 68 students and 5 teachers testing positive.
Dr. Kariuki Gichuki Nakuru’s CEC confirmed this in a statement while also adding that 115 others are in quarantine while those infected are in isolation.
This comes just days after 52 students, 4 teachers plus 2 support staff at Kolanya Boys were reported to have contracted the virus in Busia.
The Nakuru county CEC said, “A medical team is monitoring the condition of the students and teachers in isolation and quarantine at the school.”
One girl is reported to have gotten complications and was taken to Nakuru PGH COVID-19 isolation and Management Center for treatment.
Learning for Grade 4 as well as candidates sitting for their KCPE and KCSE are expected to continue with the rest of the students at home waiting to reopen in January 2021, as said by President Uhuru Kenyatta while he addressed the nation on Wednesday.
